NATURALLY SHOCK ABSORBENT

From the moment you walk on Soft Landing Playground Mulch ( SLPM ), you will instantly feel the bounce and cushion that SLPM provides. It will not become compact, so it keeps its soft composition and texture for years. SLPM meets all AMST requirements. At equal depths, SLPM gives more cushion and support than traditional wood mulch products. Unlike pea gravel (which will freeze into a hard surface at 32 degrees F), SLPM will allow your children to use their play system in the winter. Even though residential users are not required to use critical fall heights when determining how much of a substrate to buy, you can easily see how even 3" of SLPM will provide a safer surface than wood mulch or pea gravel at the same depth.

CLEANER THAN OTHER SUBSTRATE CHOICES

SLPM does not mildew, rot, mild or decompose like wood products do. When it rains, any dust that has formed on SLPM will run off the rubber. Unlike wood mulch and pea gravel that quickly decompose or become slimy, SLPM stays relatively clean. At Re-Tek, we feel it allows your children to play without becoming as dirty or messy as they would on wood mulch. A great attribute of SLPM is that it drains and dries so quickly, children normally can play 15-30 minutes after it has rained. No more waiting hours or until the next day to use your play system. SLPM will not attract animals or insects like wood mulch.

SAFER THAN OTHER SUBSTRATE CHOICES

SLPM is non-toxic and harmless to the environment. If a child does put some into their mouth, the strong, bitter taste normally causes them to spit it out. If a child does chew SLPM, the non-abrasive texture is unlikely to cause any type of mouth injury. SLPM will not cause slivers, cuts or bruises like wood or gravel substrate products can. Parents often don't realize children will commonly throw mulch when they play. Compared to wood mulch or gravel products, SLPM is less likely to cause any type of injury when thrown. As with wood mulch or pea gravel, to prevent any risk of choking, Let's Play recommends that parents prevent their children form swallowing SLPM.

APPEARANCE

SLPM comes in a Redwood color. At this time we are not offering any other colors. At Re-Tek we spent over three years researching playground mulch and processing techniques before we decided to produce a playground mulch. You will be amazed how realistic SLPM looks. The unique manufacturing process used to make SLPM gives it the look of a natural wood mulch product, without all the negative characteristics of wood mulch. Many professional landscapers actually buy SLPM instead of wood mulch. Using SLPM to finish your play system will not only make your play area safer, but will give it a clean, professional look.

EASE OF USE

SLPM is extremely easy to transport and spread. Since SLPM is sold in bags, you don't need a special truck to bring it home like bulk mulch products. To help prevent weeds from growing through the mulch, we recommend that a landscape fabric be used under SLPM. Spreading the product doesn't require any special tools and can be done by one person. SLPM is so easy to bring home and spread, this is just another reason it's the best choice for your play system and family.

COST EFFECTIVE

Though SLPM may seem more expensive than other substrate choices, it will not compact, decompose or pulverize, so a one time application will last for years. Wood mulch products decompose yearly, so they need to be replenished 33% to 50% annually. When you compare the cost, labor and mess of buying mulch yearly, versus buying SLPM once, you'll find SLPM is very economical.
