What sizes do SSRP come in?
SSRP have an interlocking (Dog-bone) shape. It takes 3.42
pavers to make a Sq. Ft. SSRP comes in both 1/2" (half)
and 1 1/2" (full) thickness.
top What makes SSRP different than other rubber pavers?
SSRP are made using an injection mold process instead of the
more common compression mold. SSRP are made with EPDM Red Rubber.
Not red rubber pigment.
top What makes an injection mold process better?
It
is easy to see the difference between Injection Mold (IM) pavers
and Compression Mold (CM) pavers. IM uses rubber,
plastic and heat. A CM uses rubber and glue. This typically
causes a CM paver to break down and fail much quicker than
an IM paver. If you have the opportunity to touch each type
of paver, try to rub each one and you will instantly determine
that an IM paver is more durable. Since the IM process eliminates
glue, you won't have the curling or crumbling problem of
CM pavers. When determining whose pavers to use for your
next project we strongly recommend you only consider pavers
made through an Injection Mold process.
top How are SSRP colored?
SSRP comes in a Terra-Cotta
Red color. Unlike most pavers, SSRP is made using EPDM Red
Rubber. Not Red Rubber Pigment.
A common complaint of CM pavers is that over time the red
color will "wear away" or "buff away" leaving
a black paver. This will not happen with SSRP since the
red color comes from red rubber not a red pigment. When
researching
rubber pavers be sure to find out if the pavers are made
from Red Rubber or Red pigment. It's like the difference
between using Oak wood for a job or painting pine and Oak
color.
top What colors to SSRP come in?
Our stock color
is a Terra-Cotta Red. Since we only use colored rubber (not
pigments) we do not offer a menu of colors. If
you have a specific color request and your project is over
2000 sq. ft., we may be able to accommodate your request
for an additional charge.
top Why are SSRP thinner than other company's pavers?
The
Injection Mold process is inherently more efficient since it
doesn't require any adhesive or glue. By using an Injection
Mold process we are able to produce rubber pavers that are
more durable and stronger than the more common, thicker Compression
Mold pavers.
top Where are SSRP made?
SSRP are American made
in Indiana and shipped from our factory warehouse in Kentucky.
We normally have any size job in stock
and can turn around an order within one week. With SSRP
you are buying directly from the factory and their partner
and
cutting out the "middle man".
top How do I decide whose pavers to buy?
At Re-Tek
we realize that there are many different companies manufacturing
rubber pavers. If you want the paver to last
more than 2-4 years we strongly recommend you only consider
pavers that are made by an Injection Mold and are produced
using EPDM Red Rubber. We feel when you look at the durability
and quality of our pavers combined with our factory pricing
and reasonable shipping costs you will agree that Soft Step
Rubber Pavers are the right choice for your next project.
top How do I determine how many SSRP to buy?
SSRP
are sold by the Sq. Ft. To determine how many pavers you will
need for your project you need to first determine the
square footage of your project. Sq. Ft. can be determined
by multiplying the length x width. We then recommend you
add 5% - 10% to your purchase. The 5% - 10% will cover any
material that is lost due to edging or cuts.
top Can I get a sample of SSRP?
Yes, we are happy
to send out a sample of the half pavers 1/2",
or full pavers 1 1/2", depending on your project. There
is a $10.00 charge to cover shipping and handling. This $10.00
charge will be given back as credit if you decide to purchase
SSRP. If you would like to receive a sample, just give us
a call and we will get one out to you in 2 business days.
